Display Screen Equipment Regulations were introduced in 1992 to protect office users from the day to day stresses and strains of working with poorly provided computer systems. The regulations put the onus on employers to provide good seating and desks as well as easy to use stress-free equipment.

Many employers now provide annual surveys for their staff to make sure that they are offering adequate working conditions.

We a 2-tier DSE assessment solution. This has been designed to be a low cost automated assessment, combined with professional skills backup where indications show that employees are in difficulty and need attention.

•  Tier 1

Each DSE user performs an annual assessment via an Internet based system that confirms or otherwise that each user is working comfortably and is in good health.  The results are analysed, stored, and a schedule is set to re-assess the user at the appropriate time.  Any contra-indications are shown to the employer for their action.

• Tier 2

Where the assessment shows that an employee may be experiencing health-related problems, a professional follow-up is automatically scheduled via our solution, at all times with full input form the company representative responsible for staff health.  This 'visit' can be from an external professional or from an internal professional - the solution determines the appropriate action based on the options selected when the system is set up.  The session will include interviews of affected employees, completion of a full assessment questionnaire electronically, appropriate ergonomic and posture advice etc.  Recommendations can be made to management via the system so that equipment can be purchased or medical escalation can be suggested.
